West Ham Forward Earns First International Recognition

Jarrod Bowen's meteoric rise continues with England call-up

West Ham forward earns first international recognition

Chairman of childhood club hails 'inspirational' selection

West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen has received his first international call-up, adding to the remarkable story of his rise from non-league football to the brink of the England squad.

Bowen, 24, has been in impressive form for West Ham this season, scoring five goals in 13 Premier League appearances. His performances have caught the eye of England manager Gareth Southgate, who has included him in his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Albania.

The call-up is a fitting reward for Bowen's hard work and dedication. He started his career at non-league club Hereford United before moving to Hull City in 2014. He made his Premier League debut for West Ham in 2020 and has since established himself as a key player for both club and country.

Bowen's selection has been hailed as an inspiration by the chairman of his childhood club, Hereford United chairman Jon Hale. "This is a proud moment for everyone associated with Hereford United," Hale said. "Jarrod is an inspiration to all our young players and shows that anything is possible if you work hard enough."

Bowen's call-up is a testament to the talent and potential that exists in English football. He is one of a number of young players who have emerged in recent years to help England challenge for major honours.
